Data controller
Skala Studios AS, company number 920 000 000, Sandakerveien 24c, 0473 Oslo, Norway, is the data controller for personal information processed on this website and in our software.
Privacy questions go to privacy@skalastudios.no. We typically respond within three working days.
What we collect
When you fill out our contact form we store your name, email, phone number and what you write in the message. These are used solely to respond to the inquiry and to follow up on a project.
When you use our software (Atlas or Skala Model Studio) we store technical usage data — login time, chosen language, error messages and device type — to keep the service running and improve it. We do not store location data beyond what's required to display the model.
We don't use cookies for marketing or third-party analytics. The only thing stored locally in your browser is your language and theme preference.
Legal basis
Processing is based on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to respond to inquiries, and on contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) when you are a customer using our software.
We don't process special categories of personal data and don't require consent beyond what's necessary for the services.
Retention
Contact form inquiries are stored for 24 months, or as long as an active customer relationship lasts. Software user data is deleted 90 days after a license ends, unless you ask us to delete it earlier.
Accounting records are kept for five years per Norwegian bookkeeping law.
Data processors and storage
We use a few services to deliver our own. Your data is stored in the EU/EEA, and we have data processing agreements with all of them:
- Hetzner — server hosting, Frankfurt and Helsinki.
- Postmark — transactional email delivery.
- Sentry — error reporting, EU region.
- Tripletex — invoicing and accounting.
We never sell data to third parties and don't share information outside of these providers without your consent or a legal requirement.
Your rights
You can request access to the data we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete everything. Email privacy@skalastudios.no — we respond within 30 days.
If you think we process your data in violation of regulations, you may file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no).
Changes
If we change this statement, we'll update the date at the top and notify existing customers by email if the change is material.
