Data controller
Atoma Nordic AS, trading as Skala Studios, company number 937 007 922, Sverres gate 11, 7800 Namsos, Norway, is the data controller for personal information processed on this website and in our software.
Privacy questions go to support@skalastudios.no. We typically respond within three working days.
What we collect
When you fill out our contact form we store your name, email, phone number and what you write in the message. These are used solely to respond to the inquiry and to follow up on a project.
When you use our software (Atlas or Skala Model Studio) we store technical usage data — login time, chosen language, error messages and device type — to keep the service running and improve it. We do not store location data beyond what's required to display the model.
We set no cookies — neither our own nor third-party ones. What sits in your browser is there because you triggered it: your language, your theme and your consent choice. Section 07 lists every one of them.
Legal basis
Processing is based on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to respond to inquiries, and on contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) when you are a customer using our software.
We don't process special categories of personal data and don't require consent beyond what's necessary for the services.
Retention
Contact form inquiries are stored for 24 months, or as long as an active customer relationship lasts. Software user data is deleted 90 days after a license ends, unless you ask us to delete it earlier.
Accounting records are kept for five years per Norwegian bookkeeping law.
Data processors and storage
We use a few services to deliver our own. Your data is stored in the EU/EEA, and we have data processing agreements with all of them:
- Microsoft Azure — server hosting and storage, Sweden region.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Sentry — error reporting, EU region.
- Tripletex — invoicing and accounting.
We never sell data to third parties and don't share information outside of these providers without your consent or a legal requirement.
Your rights
You can request access to the data we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete everything. Email support@skalastudios.no — we respond within 30 days.
If you think we process your data in violation of regulations, you may file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no).
Cookies and what your browser remembers
This site sets no cookies. What is stored, is stored in your browser's own storage on your machine, is never sent to us, and can be removed at any time by clearing site data for skalastudios.no:
- skala-lang — the language you picked, so you don't have to pick it again.
- skala-theme — light or dark theme.
- skala-consent — your choice about visitor statistics — only set if you turn it off.
- skala-lead-* — that you've seen the "Want to know more?" box, so it doesn't nag.
We count page views to see which pages are useful. The count is anonymous and aggregated: no cookies, no profile, nothing stored on your device — which is why we don't ask permission, and equally why we can't recognise you tomorrow. We record a few events the same way, such as the contact form being sent or the language being switched. Nothing is shared with ad networks, and we carry no tracking pixels from LinkedIn, Meta or Google.
We count visits to skalastudios.no and app.skalastudios.no anonymously and without cookies: your IP address is only used to determine which country the visit comes from and to create a hash with a salt that is replaced every night, and it is never stored.
If you'd rather not be counted, the button below turns it off. The choice is stored in your browser and holds until you turn it back on.
