How do I convert IFC to LandXML for machine control?
Two ways. Online, use Skala Konvert in the browser. The file is not uploaded. In SketchUp, Skala BIM imports IFC 4.3 and exports LandXML.

Guides
How do I make trenches around pipes in SketchUp?
There are two tools. For water and sewer (VA) pipes drawn in Skala Pipe, use the trench from pipes in Skala Pipe. For IFC pipes, use «Create trench» in Skala BIM.
How do I calculate volume between two surfaces in Infrakit?
Use the volume tool in Enhance+, a Chrome extension for Infrakit. Pick a From surface and a To surface. You get cut, fill and net. Enhance+ is free for the rest of 2026.
Login and account
How do I sign in?
Sign-in is at app.skalastudios.no. Choose «Continue with Microsoft». If your organisation uses email codes, choose «Sign in with email code».
How does the one-time code work?
You enter your work email, and we send a 6-digit code to it. Type in the code and you are signed in. The code can only be used once.
The code doesn't work. What do I do?
The code may have expired or already been used. Check your inbox and ask for a new one with «Resend code».
I forgot my password. What now?
app.skalastudios.no has no password of its own. You sign in with your Microsoft account or with a one-time code by email.
I can't sign in with Microsoft.
If you were invited, your organisation's administrator may need to enable external sign-in. If your IT has not approved the app, your organisation can sign in with email codes instead. Email support@skalastudios.no.
How do I get an account?
Email support@skalastudios.no. We send you an invitation and add the licence.
Do I use the same account in SketchUp?
Yes. In SketchUp you sign in with your Skala account in Skala Manage.

What does it cost?

Is Enhance+ free?
The Enhance+ base package is free through 2026. After that it will be paid. The price will be announced later.
What is in the Enhance+ base package?
Profile view, centreline and volume in the browser, Skala Fleet, and Norwegian reference systems, terminology and workflows.
Do I need a licence for Skala Konvert?
Yes. Konvert requires sign-in and a licence.
Where do I see my licence?
In the Skala Manage settings. They show the language, units and licence for the signed-in account.
What happened to Spine?
Spine is now part of Skala BIM, as Skala BIM – Spine. It builds centrelines from selected pipes and manholes. Existing Spine customers keep their access in «Skala BIM – Spine».
Installation
How do I install Enhance+?
Enhance+ is a Chrome extension. Add it from the Chrome Web Store. It switches on inside Infrakit, with no new login and no new app. Enhance+ in the Chrome Web Store
How do I install the SketchUp tools?
Through Skala Manage in SketchUp. Sign in with your Skala account, and you install, update and uninstall the tool collections there.
Where do I download Skala Manage?
Sign in at app.skalastudios.no and download Skala Manage there, as an .rbz file.
How do I know if a tool needs an update?
Skala Manage shows the status per product: installed, update or ready. Each extension also shows its version.
Do I install Skala Base separately?
No. Skala Base now ships with Manage, under «Skala BIM → Skala Base». That is one install instead of two.
What does Skala Manage require?
Skala Base, Skala Start and the workspace panels require Windows and a session started from Skala Start. The map in the viewport requires SketchUp 2023 or newer.
Do I need to install anything for Konvert?
No. Konvert runs in the browser. No plugin.

What is Skala Konvert?
Konvert turns IFC into LandXML surfaces in the browser. The file is not uploaded. Konvert can also shift IFC coordinates, and an EPSG code can be set on the shift.
What is Skala Pipe?
Pipe draws water, sewer and underground electrical in SketchUp. A library, a manhole builder, a longitudinal profile and a trench. Quantities can be exported, and the parts take an IFC classification.
What is Skala BIM?
Eight SketchUp plugins: LX, Vektra, IFC, Extract, Origo, Trough, Toggle and Spine. IFC 4.3, LandXML, terrain, trenches and origin.
What is Skala Manage?
Manage is sign-in, the tool catalogue, Skala Base and Skala Move inside SketchUp. Move imports and exports DWG, DXF, SOSI, KOF and KML. You can also connect Xsite, Makin and Trimble Connect.
What is Skala Road?
Road is road design in SketchUp, under the name Skala Veg. Road standard N100 sets lane, shoulder and crossfall.
