Menus respond while loading. The Manage window opens without waiting for an unneeded request, and one click on Products fetches the list once. You can switch pages while products load, and the installation screen stays until the installation is finished.
The product list is built faster, and tools you have just installed or updated appear without reopening Manage.
Settings are saved even when the file is briefly locked. Manage retries instead of showing an error, and saved settings are never overwritten by an older save.

Skala Manage has gained an AI assistant in Properties, a Toolspace panel, free Norwegian terrain (Kartverket) in Skala Base, and NVDB infrastructure as models in SketchUp.Point clouds and Novapoint cross-sections (.sfi): Skala Move reads .laz/.las as a terrain surface, imports .sfi and exports the surfaces back to SFI.
Toolspace and point tools. Toolspace shows the model's objects, and only appears in sessions started from Skala Start. Pipe networks are their own object type with name, system, material, diameter and route length, and can be renamed from Toolspace (requires Skala Pipe 0.60.346). Identical pipe lengths in the same network show on one row with a combined length.
Terrain visibility. A slider in View at the bottom of Properties adjusts terrain transparency (0 % hides, 100 % restores). Pipes and other objects are not affected, and the change can be undone.
Edges and profiles are controlled from Manage. The display controls for edges and profiles live in Manage, so they look the same with and without Pipe.
Skala Start has received several fixes: the right name, unit per project, real deletion and no crash on close, sub-projects open directly, and “Restart SketchUp” keeps the Skala Start session.
The button bar and properties panel wait for embedding in the SketchUp window instead of disappearing, and dialogs opened during start-up are kept.
Manage is more responsive, and a pending browser sign-in is kept.
Skala AI chat in Properties. A dedicated AI tab in Properties that reads and searches the model, finds objects similar to the selection, quantifies and isolates the selection.
Confirmed actions with Undo. The AI chat can move, delete, hide/show and set properties on whole objects after you confirm, and read Pset properties on the selected object.
AI answers are formatted for narrow panels, and “Help” gives a full overview of examples and limitations.
Norwegian terrain (Kartverket) and the map placement stored in the model is used at terrain import.
Infrastructure from NVDB. Import to Infrastructure has separate choices for manhole, pipeline, culvert, duct/channel and pull chamber. Draw a rectangle after the location is set in Skala Origo. Data is fetched free of charge from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's NVDB without an account.
Models of manholes and pipes from the Skala Pipe library. Pipes and round manholes are built from Pipe parts, and where something is missing a 3D dimension model is used. Product choices and other assumptions are marked on the object in the IFC properties.
Source and documentation follow the object. The NVDB import fetches the whole object response, and relations to cable trench and cable are documented in “06 Source documentation”. Your own documents, such as surveys and O&M, can be linked to a selected object.
Road-network references become orange reference geometry, and infrastructure with an unresolved height reference is not shifted in Z. Manhole heights can be updated from terrain, and the result is marked as calculated.
IFC on imported objects. Imported objects get IFC classification and properties in four groups (General, Object, Source and Quality), and “Update IFC on imported objects” does the same for existing imports in one Undo step.
Point labels in 2D. Switch on “Show text” under Point text (2D) in Properties to show name, code and height at the points, with layouts and an annotation scale from 1:50 to 1:2000.
Cloud projects. Import projects from the cloud, including your company's own projects, and set Infrakit references.
Import of .laz and .las. The point cloud becomes a terrain surface, not a cloud of points, through the same route as DMI/DMR. The grid never gets finer than the point spacing in the file and stops at 513 × 513. If the file is not classified, the lowest point in each cell is used, and the message after the import says which of the two it was. Heights are left as in the file.
Import of .sfi. The file is read as surfaces, layer surfaces and lines. Road surfaces get Novapoint's own names («H. Kjørefelt 1», «V. Fylling 11» …), codes without names become FLATE_<code>, and each surface becomes an SS_Surface group. Layer surfaces («Slitelag», «Bærelag 1» …) and breaklines per point code are imported, and the centreline gets heights from the vertical profile.
Export to SFI. The surfaces are cut into cross-sections along the centreline. The code is kept on the surface group, so the SFI export keeps it even after a rename.
A profile without layer 1 now becomes a hole in the road surface, not a bridge across it.
Lines in the native road model are fixed.

Skala Base is now part of Skala Manage. The former NVDB import has moved in and grown into maps, terrain and Skala Start. Claude can also read the whole SketchUp model and quantify it.Skala Move gets the same dialogs as LX and IFC, and exports in the model's coordinates by default.
Claude can read the whole SketchUp model, highlight objects and hide or show them.
Quantity take-off. Claude can take out metres, counts, m³ and m² for all objects. Area is calculated correctly even for objects scaled unevenly, and the answer is honest about large objects.
Export uses the model's actual coordinates by default. With an updated Skala Origo the saved working origin follows automatically. «Export to another origin» sits behind the gear and applies to one export, also through cloud export.
The origin row is hidden when origin is off, and Temporary/Permanent/Update are removed from the dialog. Move uses the same dialogs as LX and IFC, and destination dialogs close once.
Product descriptions and dialogs are aligned with the suite standard.
Native import runs outside a Ruby operation, the entity list is not built when nothing is to be moved, and the loader closes before post-processing starts. The empty box in the dialog is removed, and Skala's progress is kept through native import in SketchUp 2026.

Claude gets a panel of its own inside SketchUp.Skala Import/Export gets the name Skala Move, and exports to Trimble Connect.Skala Move now reads Novapoint road models (.dmr and .dmi) and builds 3D road surfaces and breaklines straight in SketchUp.
Claude assistant panel inside SketchUp (prototype). The panel docks in the model viewport as a full-height sidebar, follows the SketchUp window when it is moved or resized, and has a sliding open, live theme sync and Enter/Esc keys. It opens from its own toolbar button.
“What can Claude do?” now also shows the Skala LX functions.
Infrakit: material import. Import material names into an Infrakit project.
Trimble Connect as an upload destination. The filename is chosen in a styled dialog when the export happens.
New name: Skala Move. The package (folder Skala_Move, loader Skala_Move.rb) replaces skala_io. On upgrade the loader deletes the old skala_io folder and neutralises the old skala_io.rb.
The Move menu registers in Skala Manage's shared Skala Studios menu as soon as it exists.
Import of .dmr. 3D road surfaces are built per point code with Quadri's semantics: a surface runs from a coded point to the next coded point to the right, through uncoded intermediate points. The result is checked against surfaces exported as LandXML from Quadri. The terrain surface is off by default because it can freeze SketchUp.
Lines. The centreline gets SS_Alignment and a fixed red colour, and breaklines per point code (KODE_…) get SS_Feature_Line in a darker shade of the surface's colour. The boundary lines (AVGR_…) from .dmi are imported as feature lines.
Import of .dmi. The line tasks are built as polylines from the horizontal elements (straights, circular arcs and clothoids) and get heights from the vertical profile. Verified surface names are taken from the .dmi, otherwise FLATE_<code> is used.
The import shows a progress dialog, surfaces are not smoothed, and code transitions are woven as a single strip with no open triangle between the fans.
Station chains that swallowed each other, wedges in the surfaces and open triangles are fixed. No surface or terrain strip is made between stations more than 25 m apart.
The progress dialog now draws, since the import runs in a Fiber and starts when the dialog is ready.

Skala Manage becomes a hub for installation: install, update and uninstall whole bundles of tools, and connect Claude to SketchUp with Skala BIM.
Install tool bundles. The Products page groups the tools into bundles with a wizard that shows confirmation, progress and restart. Installation is silent, with one consent dialog instead of one per tool.
Update and uninstall. Installed tools with a newer version get an Update button, and uninstalling really removes the tools. A Restart button restarts SketchUp with a save prompt and reopens the same model. The “Previous versions” page lets you roll back to an older version.
First-run set-up. Choose language and accept the terms the first time, and get a notice on the Home page when the tools have updates.
Shortcuts follow your account. Your SketchUp shortcuts are saved to your Skala account and restored on a new machine, with a silent backup.
Report a bug from Manage straight to support, where you choose module (suite, such as Skala BIM) and tool.
The Skala Studios menu has a fixed category order (BIM, Pipe, Road, Landscape), and the Skala Pipe submenu sits at the top.
The Home page has a new design and fetches news in Manage.
Home news and the hero never loaded in SketchUp 2026, and installed tools are now recognised by their support folder, not only by name.
Sign in via the system browser with an explicit step before the browser opens, and stay signed in between SketchUp launches.
Sign out restarts the sign-in through the browser, not the legacy dialog.
The Claude page is a guide for the Skala BIM connector, with one-click adding, a replica of the claude.ai dialog that shows the steps, and an automatic switch to “connected” when the link goes live.
Skala BIM tabs and the cloud agent. Skala BIM has its own tabs and a settings tab with a switch for the cloud agent, which now lives in Manage. Skala BIM sits at the top of the Skala Studios menu.

The first releases of Skala Manage in SketchUp: sign-in, a tool catalogue and integrations. The first versions of Skala Move, then called «Skala Import/Export»: import and export of general formats in SketchUp, with the same set-up as Skala IFC.
Sign-in with a Skala account. Manage shows which account is signed in.
Light and dark theme that is remembered between SketchUp sessions.
A Products tab with bundles. See the tools you have access to, grouped under bundles, and install them directly from SketchUp.
Update check against skalastudios.no, with an icon that is always visible.
A shared Skala Studios menu that all Skala tools use.
Manage has a new logo (Nordic Monoline), more visible in the interface and in the Extension Manager, and a blue accent colour instead of orange.
Xsite, Makin and Trimble Connect in the integrations panel. Xsite has moved to the Skala gateway so no credentials are stored locally, and Makin connects through the gateway. Status updates without reopening Manage.
Upload of Infrakit models as an asynchronous job, which enables LX cloud export.
The sign-in dialog closes reliably after a successful sign-in, and integrations no longer show as disconnected until Manage is reopened.
Import and export of general formats. SketchUp's own file dialogs are used for the file itself, with a destination picker (My PC or cloud) and an IFC-style origin/coordinate dialog.
KML and KOF. SOSI, KOF and KML are imported by built-in Ruby parsers; points become construction points, lines become edges, and surfaces are built on a best-effort basis.
A temporary origin captures real national coordinates, also for DWG, and a warning is shown if the coordinates are local. The origins are written to the shared Skala_Origo dictionary that IFC reads.
Clicking «Temporary» no longer imports at once; the import only happens on the Import button. SketchUp's import box is hidden, and saving path preferences no longer prints to the console.
