How do I calculate volume between two surfaces in Infrakit?
Use the volume tool in Enhance+, a Chrome extension for Infrakit. Pick a From surface and a To surface. You get cut, fill and net. Enhance+ is free for the rest of 2026.
Steps
- Install Enhance+ in Chrome and open the project in Infrakit.
- Open the volume tool.
- Pick the From surface, for example existing terrain. Pick from the list or click in the map.
- Pick the To surface, for example the design surface.
- Choose the calculation area, or use the whole surface.
- Choose whether to save the volume as XML and whether to create cross sections.
- Run the calculation.
Need profiles? The cross-section report makes a PDF with one sheet per profile.
Formats
- In: surface files in the Infrakit project.
- Out: volume saved as XML, an outline of the area and a PDF cross-section report.
Limitations
- Volume is only counted where both surfaces have an elevation.
- From and To must be two different surfaces covering the same area.
- Cross sections require a triangulated To surface.
- Check the basis and boundary before using quantities for billing.
Result
Cut and fill in m³, net volume and, if chosen, a cross-section report.
